DPI Director Fellhofer talks about prevention measures on ORF
The prevention of Islamism at schools in Austria is to be stepped up. According to an announcement by the Ministry of the Interior, 160 people are to be deployed for this purpose. In the TV programme ‘ORF III Aktuell’ on 17 October, Lisa Fellhofer, Director of the Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI), spoke with presenter Reiner Reitsamer about this project, the background and possible further measures. Among other things, she talked about how the spread of Islamist ideas in social media leads to the online radicalisation of young people. The DPI Director emphasised the importance of digital media literacy and explained the methods used by religious extremist groups, such as the deliberate mixing of political ideology and religion.

DPI Director Fellhofer spoke with presenter Jürgen Winterleitner about the related developments and how the Hamas terror attack of 7 October 2023 is being instrumentalised as a vehicle for Islamist narratives.
