DPI Director Lisa Fellhofer in conversation with MeinBezirk
The Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI) continuously researches and documents religiously motivated political extremism. In a recent interview with Regionalmedien Austria (MeinBezirk), DPI Director Lisa Fellhofer spoke about the latest findings and challenges arising from the DPI annual report. In conversation with MeinBezirk editor Adrian Langer, she discussed how strategies in political Islam have changed and why girls and young women are a new target group for radical groups. Another topic was the question of internal Muslim forces that critically examine the ideologies and narratives of political Islam. The interview also addressed the ideological conflicts that are deliberately exploited by actors of political Islam to polarise politics, society and education.

In November, the Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI) visited several federal states. A symposium was held on the campus of the University of Education Lower Austria in Baden, while a conference on extracurricular youth work took place in Salzburg and the Magdalena Discussion was held in Linz. -

In autumn, a delegation from the Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI) visited representatives of the European Commission and the European Parliament in Brussels. The DPI also informed the Integration Advisory Board about key trends and observations. -
10/15/2025DPI at conferences in Frankfurt and at the National Defence Academy in Vienna
In recent months, the DPI has once again contributed its expertise to a number of academic events. The Frankfurt Research Centre for Global Islam (FFGI) organised a conference at Goethe University on 22 August 2025. The Conference on Strategy and Security Policy took place in mid-September 2025 at the National Defence Academy in Vienna. -

Last week, the Documentation Centre Political Islam (DPI) hosted this year's Conference on Extremism and Radicalisation Austria (CERA). The conference took place at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. Experts from academia and practice presented their research findings and then debated them in plenary sessions.
