The Documentation Centre also supports projects by various academics who critically examine Political Islam and religiously motivated political extremism. With the recently published volume "Political Islam and Religiously Motivated Political Extremism - An International Comparison" by Arno Tausch, the fund was able to contribute to the creation of a well-founded empirical study that takes a comparative approach to the phenomena of Political Islam and religiously motivated political extremism. As part of the SpringerBriefs in Political Science series, the publication provides a compact overview of a complex topic.
The book "Political Islam and Religiously Motivated Political Extremism - An International Comparison", published as Open Access, has already been accessed online more than 2850 times (as of 21 August 2023); the work has also been cited in the international journal Religions. In keeping with the Fund's science-to-public approach, the volume is accessible in numerous libraries worldwide.
About the author: Arno Tausch is a political scientist, university lecturer at the University of Innsbruck and visiting professor at Budapest Corvinus University. He publishes on globalisation, Islamism and world systems theory, among other topics.
