Insights into Muslim Brotherhood Milieus in German-Speaking Countries
The New Report by Lorenzo Vidino and Sergio Altuna documents the Complexity of the widespread Islamist movement through Interviews.
The documentation of several interviews with people who moved in the milieu of the Muslim Brotherhood in the past decades provides an insight into its dynamics and structures, some of which are extremely complex, especially in German-speaking countries. The movement was founded in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, follows a chauvinist understanding of Islam and is one of the oldest structures in Political Islam. According to the insider talks, it operates covertly within Europe and rejects the secular state. The report makes a sound contribution to a better understanding of the Muslim Brotherhood, its networks and ideas.
